Creates its own Electricity! - Increases Your Comfort - Uses Less Fuel - Silent In Operation The Caframo Ecofan Original and Airplus are heat-powered fans designed to circulate the warm air created by a wood-stove operating with normal surface temperatures of between 205°C and 345°C. These fans do not use batteries or mains power. Increased Efficiency: Warm air is circulated directly into the living area rather than having most of the stoves heat rise immediately to the ceiling, thereby increasing the heating efficiency of your stove. Unique Blade Design: The unique anodised gold or nickel coloured blade has been specifically designed to deliver a very broad cross section of gentle air movement instead of a small cone of concentrated air. Easy Operation: Ecofans start automatically and adjust speed with the stove's temperature. As the stove heats up the Ecofan runs faster to move more air into the room. As the stove burns down and cools, the Ecofan automatically slows down and stops. Costs Nothing to Operate: Ecofans use only the heat from the stove. The Ecofan is the most economical way to efficiently circulate warm air. It does not use any batteries and can be used where there is no electricity. Ecofans are made from anodised aluminium that will not rust. Bi-metal strips in the base of Ecofans help prevent the fan from overheating. (800 Original design only; the 802 Airplus is no longer fitted with such strips) SUPERB FOR NARROWBOATS! It is important to read, and follow, the instructions on the correct placement of the Ecofans to ensure satisfactory long term use and that your stove is working within the temperature range of 'best operation'. We recommend the use of one of our Stove Thermometers. (Click Here for details)
For technical information on how Ecofans work :- The Seebeck Effect The generator module is a unique semiconductor device that relies upon the Seebeck effect to generate electricity. When two dissimilar semiconductors (p-type and n-type) at the same temperature are connected together they establish a static electric potential difference. With the introduction of a temperature difference heat flows across the joined semiconductors which in turn permits electrons to flow. With the electron flow or current comes the ability to power electrical devices such as the fan's motor. Note:- We do Hold commonly needed spares for these fans..
