  • SCOPE
  • Most of our stoves are able to provide central heating if required, but it is essential that the system is balanced, that is to say, the central heating load and room requirements (stove site) match.
  • RANGE
  • For instance it would be unecomonic to choose a boiler with an output of 42,000 Btu's plus a stove providing room output of 6-8Kw when in fact, the room only required 3-4 Kw. In practice, the stove would be shut down to the 3-4 Kw output, the result is that the boiler output would also fall to 21,000 Btu's. Woodwarm produce the range of Fireview stoves & boilers to give outputs from a mere 4.5Kw's Dry to a massive 20 Kw's and boilers from 6,000 Btu's to 75,000 Btu's and  3.7Kw's of room output.
  • SIZING  --  A good rule of thumb guide to heat required in a given room is:
  • Height x Width x Depth (in feet)  divided by 500 giving the result in Kilowatts.
  • Based on average house insulation, and room temperatures of 20C with ambient outside temperature of -1C.  (Well Insulated houses divide by 650)
  • FORMULA:- (H x W x D)/500 = Kilowatts  Or    (H x W x D)/500  x 3,400  = Btu's
  • To find the approximate size of the radiators in any particular room, divide the room load into Btu's by 160 and this will give the radiator size in square feet (count all sides of radiators and allow for finned rads).
  • When choosing the stove/boiler combination:-
  • Allow 8,000 Btu's for the hot water (standard cylinder 36" x 18") and then allow 20% of the total load figure for heat losses in the system (pipework etc.).  -  If you only require hot water, we do make a limited range of stainless steel boilers for direct systems.
  • Boilers reduce firebox temperatures, and clean burn relies on, for correct working, a high fire box temperature. The airwash may not be so effective in a fully boilered stove. Pipe thermostats are essential on any stove/boiler combinations, they assist clean burn and much prolong the life of the boiler. Use a magnetic stove thermometer to aid correct running temperatures.
  • INSTALLATION AND OPERATING GUIDELINES
  • Booklets detailing our installation requirements and operating advice are supplied with each WOODWARM stove. The installation booklet MUST be read before the stove is installed as it contains important information.
  • WOODWARM STOVES are covered by a Conditional 10 year Lifetime Guarantee.  Consult your WOODWARM Dealer for full details.
