Basic Rules Site, Flue  & Wood Fuel.

Basic Rules to Remember

Site of Stove.

1. The hearth (5" 125 mm thick Non Combustible material) needs to extend in front of the unit by a minimum of 12" 300 mm.
2. The appliance needs minimum of 2"-6" (50-150 mm Non Combustible material) at the rear more for plumbing if access to the plumbing at the rear is needed.
3. To the sides 6" (150 mm) Non Combustible material.
4. Above 6" (150 mm) Non Combustible material, more if you wish to use the top for a kettle or similar.

Flue Pipes.

1. Never reduce the size of the flue outlet of the chosen appliance.
2. Single skin flues:- Position from combustibles. Never closer than 3 times the diameter of the Pipe. IE 6" (150mm) pipe needs a minimum of 18" (450 mm) from anything that can burn. Beams timber plasterboard etc.
3. Double skin flues:- Position from combustibles. Never closer than 65-85 mm minimum (check with the flue manufacturer) from anything that can burn. Beams timber plasterboard etc.

Lighting and Loading Fuel Wood.

1. Always burn dry wood (logged and chopped stored in a dry airy store for minimum of 2-5 years the dry the better.
2. Always burn wood on a good bed of ashes, the more the better only take out part of the ashes when the appliance allows spilage from the fire door.
3. Always run the appliance hard after loading with fresh fuel for 15 - 30 minutes to establish a good hot fuel bed, be fore closing down to slumber. Fireview is very easy to learn.

4. If when you return to the stove after a period of slumber, the door has tar deposits forming then the fuel load was either not hot enough or to wet or a little of both!!

I Hope this helps you enjoy safely your appliance.
